London is gearing up for an extraordinary event as Elvis Evolution, a state-of-the-art immersive show featuring the King of Rock ’n’ Roll, Elvis Presley, is set to open later this year. Developed by British company Layered Reality, this groundbreaking spectacle will use artificial intelligence (AI), holographic projections, augmented reality, live theater, and multi-sensory effects to recreate Elvis in his prime.

This innovative show, the first in a series set to hit major cities like Las Vegas, Tokyo, and Berlin, promises a life-size digital Elvis performing on stage. The creators aim to deliver an experience that goes beyond conventional tribute acts, offering what Andrew McGuinness, CEO of Layered Reality, describes as a “next-generation tribute”.

“Elvis Evolution” will feature previously unseen performances meticulously created from thousands of personal photos and home-video archives. This has been made possible through a partnership with Authentic Brands Group, which owns the Elvis Presley estate. According to Marc Rosen, head of entertainment at Authentic Brands Group, the show is set to provide fans with, “a new, immersive way of experiencing Elvis Presley’s life and legacy”.

The show’s narrative will trace Elvis’s ascent to stardom and his monumental influence on the cultural landscape of the 1950s and 1960s. It’s an endeavor to bring Elvis, a global superstar who remains relevant, into the 21st century, meeting the modern audience’s desire for interactive and engaging entertainment formats.

This initiative follows the success of the “ABBA Voyage” digital avatar show, a similar project featuring the Swedish supergroup ABBA. Since its opening in east London in May 2022, “ABBA Voyage” has sold over 1.5 million tickets, generating more than $150 million, as reported by Bloomberg.

“Elvis Evolution” is scheduled to open in November in central London. The show not only aims to celebrate the life and legacy of Elvis Presley but also to set a new standard in the realm of immersive entertainment, blending technology, music, and storytelling in a unique and innovative way.

Presley, who passed away at the age of 42 in 1977 at his Graceland mansion in Memphis, Tennessee, continues to be one of the best-selling music artists of all time. This show is expected to reignite the passion of his fans and introduce his legendary music to a new generation in an entirely new light.
