Firm at the top, Al-Ahed did the job against Safa (1–0) and maintained control after Matchday 9. Behind them, Ansar defeated Jwaya (1–0) and surged back into contention, Nejmeh stumbled again, while Al-Mabarra produced the shock of the weekend against Sagesse.
Ahed win like champions
At the Fouad Chehab Complex in Jounieh, Ahed settled the match just after the break. Opportunistic as ever, Fadl Antar pounced on a goalkeeping error to score the only goal in the 49th minute. A clinical victory — their seventh of the season — puts the reigning champions at 21 points, just ahead of Nejmeh.
Ansar bite into Jwaya and climb back up
In the match of the weekend, Ansar brought down former leaders Jwaya (1–0). Reduced to ten men from the 10th minute, the visitors held firm for nearly an hour before Aboubakar Jibrin broke the deadlock with a superb volley in the 60th minute. This victory lifts Ansar to third place on 19 points, with a game in hand against Bourj, while Jwaya slip to fourth (19 points).
Nejmeh stall again, Mabarra strike late
Nejmeh’s winless run stretches to three games after a goalless draw in Tyre against Tadamon Sour (0–0). The Reds remain second on 20 points but have clearly lost momentum. The shock result came elsewhere: at the Ahed Stadium near the airport, Al-Mabarra stunned Sagesse with a 90+13’ winner (2–1). Bakary Soumaré scored twice (42’, 90+13’) to cancel out Sékou Traoré’s equaliser (69’). Three priceless points lift Mabarra to 10 points and drop Sagesse to fifth place (13).
Bourj breathe, Racing sink deeper; Sahel and Abbassiyeh cancel each other out
Bourj secured a crucial win in Bhamdoun against Racing (2–1), thanks to goals from Qassem Choum (45+1’) and Adam Diao (50’), with Ali Moussaoui pulling one back (74’). Bourj climb to 7 points and revive their campaign, while Racing remain bottom with just one point. At the Abbas Nasser Stadium, Riyadi Abbassiyeh and Shabab Al-Sahel shared the spoils (0–0).
