The United States on Wednesday announced a new batch of sanctions on several entities, including an Iranian Central Bank Subsidiary, an entity in Turkey, two others in the United Arab Emirates, and three individuals involved in the smuggling of US technology.

The United States stated on Wednesday, that it had sanctioned an Iranian subsidiary of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI), one entity based in Turkey and two others based in the United Arab Emirates, in addition to three individuals for the smuggling of US technology.

In a statement, the US Treasury Department identified the entities as UAE-based Freedom Star General Trading Co. (L.L.C.), UAE-based Advance Banking Solution Trading DMCC (ABS), an ISC front company, Turkey-based Ted Teknoloji Gelistirme Hizmetleri Sanayi Ticaret Anonim Sirketi (Ted) and Iran-based Informatics Services Corporation (ISC), a subsidiary of CBI.

“The Central Bank of Iran has played a critical role in providing financial support to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps – Quds Force and Hezbollah, two key actors intent on further destabilizing the Middle East,” Under Secretary of the Treasury for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence Brian Nelson said in the statement.
