The West Asian U18 Basketball Championship kicked off in Baghdad, Iraq, with six participating countries. Lebanon won its first game against Palestine by a grand score of 109-62.

The tournament, which runs until July 15, includes Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine, Iran, Yemen and the host country Iraq. The competition also serves as a qualifier for the Asian Championship in this age category, with two West Asian teams joining Jordan as hosts of the continental tournament.

Lebanon, with this convincing victory, has started the tournament on a positive note and will aim to build on this momentum.

The Cedars will play their second match against Jordan on Saturday, July 13, at 8 PM Beirut time.

The six teams are divided into two groups:

Group A: Iran, Yemen, Iraq

Group B: Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine
