UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy underscored the urgent need for all parties engaged in the conflict in South Lebanon and Gaza to immediately calm the situation.

In a phone call to caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati on Tuesday, Lammy highlighted that this is “a critical moment for stability in the Middle East, and there can be no further delays; the fighting must stop now.”

For his part, the PM thanked the British minister “for the continuous interest of the British government in Lebanon and its concern for maintaining stability in the country.”

They also discussed the relations between Lebanon and the UK, as well as the situation in Lebanon and the region.
