Lebanese Forces (LF) MP Pierre Bou Assi commented on Hezbollah’s Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah’s speech this afternoon. He criticized Nasrallah’s “waiting” policy that has affected the Lebanese people, stating: “Hassan Nasrallah, waiting is indeed part of the punishment. Go to the airport and see the result of our people’s wait for your unilateral decisions.”

Bou Assi also criticized Nasrallah’s claim about not stabbing the Resistance in the back, questioning whether this is akin to “the empty threats used by repressive regimes.” He wondered if a one-sided decision to go to war could indeed be considered a stab in the back of partnership, national unity, and the constitution.

“It’s true, Iran and Syria aren’t required to engage in open conflict with Israel. They only need to fight Israel through you, so that every last Lebanese either dies or emigrates,” he added.

Bou Assi also said: “True, Israel hasn’t and won’t agree to the establishment of a Palestinian state, but we need you to agree to the establishment of a Lebanese state.”

The MP criticized Nasrallah’s relationship with Ismail Haniyeh, questioning how he felt strongly about him: “Weren’t you in conflict when the Muslim Brotherhood was fighting the Assad regime in Syria, while you were killing and being killed by the hundreds to defend it?” he castigated.

“If you could clarify these points, we would appreciate it,” he concluded.
