Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, the two surviving members of the Beatles, have come together to revisit their classic “Let It Be.” This cover will feature on the upcoming album of country megastar, Dolly Parton, who announced the news this Friday at the age of 77.

In an atmosphere of heightened anticipation, country music legend Dolly Parton is gearing up to release her 49th album, titled “Rockstar.” Scheduled for release on November 17th, the album boasts a lineup of thirty songs, with nine original tracks and twenty-one iconic covers from the rock and pop genres.

One of the album’s standout moments is undoubtedly her rendition of the iconic Beatles song “Let It Be.” And, get this, she didn’t go it alone! None other than Paul McCartney on the piano and Ringo Starr on drums collaborated on this memorable track. This artistic achievement is further enhanced by the involvement of Peter Frampton on the guitar and Mick Fleetwood on percussion. Parton expressed her enthusiasm about this collaboration on her official website, saying, “What could be better than singing ‘Let It Be’ with those who wrote and lived this story? Thanks, guys!”

It’s noteworthy that the reunion of McCartney, 81, and Starr, 83, is a significant event in itself. The instances in recent years where these two icons have shared a stage can be counted on one hand, making this collaboration all the more exceptional.

As a reminder, “Let It Be” originates from the self-titled album released in May 1970, signifying the swansong of this legendary band. The Beatles, with their decade of creativity, transformed the global musical landscape, leaving an indelible mark with their chart-topping albums and films.

“Rockstar” is not just a reflection of Dolly Parton’s passion for rock music. It’s also a heartfelt tribute to a rich and successful career. Hailing from Tennessee, this “national star” has experienced a meteoric rise, from her humble beginnings to breaking record sales, culminating in her induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

But Parton didn’t hold back on featuring star-studded guests. Big names like Elton John, Sting, John Fogerty, Pat Benatar, Lizzo, Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, and Simon LeBon of Duran Duran grace the tracklist. She also teased her covers of Queen hits, “We Will Rock You” and “We Are the Champions”, promising an album of unparalleled richness.

All eyes are now on November 17th to dive deep into “Rockstar” and uncover all the gems it holds.
