Proud recipient of the prestigious iF Design Award in the Interior Design category, this critically acclaimed exhibition has secured its place as the most globally recognized immersive art experience. It masterfully encapsulates the colorful, emotive and biographical cosmos of Kahlo via a multisensory journey. Visitors are immersed in an environment where artistic creations, literary gems and evocative photographs sprawl across the walls and floors, exposing Kahlo’s intimately personal diary from the last tumultuous decade of her life. This unveiling lays bare unexplored dimensions of her existence and artistic legacy.

Kahlo (1907–1954) was a Mexican artist best known for her self-portraits. Her work has been celebrated internationally as emblematic of Mexican national and indigenous traditions. Additionally, feminists lauded her for her uncompromising depiction of the female experience and body. She led a tumultuous life, enduring many hardships that significantly influenced her art. When she was a teenager, she was involved in a bus accident that left her with lifelong health problems. She embarked on her painting journey while recovering from the accident, during a prolonged period of bed-rest. Much of her work relates to physical pain and suffering, a theme drawn from her personal experiences.

Kahlo was also known for her volatile marriage to the famed Mexican muralist Diego Rivera. Their relationship was fraught with mutual infidelities and ultimately ended in divorce. The emotional pain she endured also became a major theme in her paintings. Despite the hardships, the artist’s spirit and talent shone through. Her artistic style was a unique blend of Mexico’s folk art traditions and a touch of surrealism.
