Dior extended the excitement of the Paris Olympics by unveiling an athletic, modern and technological black and white collection for its Spring/Summer 2025 runway on Tuesday, September 24, in Paris.

This collection drew inspiration from the mythological figure of the Amazon, paying homage to the powerful female archetype first envisioned by Christian Dior in his 1951 “Amazon” dress.

The collection showcased a daring asymmetry with dresses, blouses and tops, revealing one shoulder while covering the other, reviving a distinctly 2000s vibe that appeals to younger clients. Sportswear elements included elaborately zipped and strapped jerseys, motorcycle bombers and parachute pants.

Maria Grazia Chiuri, the artistic director of Dior’s women’s lines, aims to encapsulate the essence of clothing, suggesting that each piece speaks to the meticulous craftsmanship behind its creation. The result is a decisively graphic collection that plays on the contrast between black and white, with the “Miss Dior” logo becoming increasingly central and stretched to create a series of lines.

Evening gowns in nude tones of mesh and beading echoed the Amazon theme, emphasizing a matriarchal society. Remarkably, high heels were absent, replaced by flat, flexible thigh-high boots, embodying a mobile, powerful and dominant woman.

During the show, artist SAGG Napoli, known for incorporating archery into her performances, captivated the audience with an arrow shot along the 150-meter runway, accompanied by booming Italian techno. The front row was graced by France’s First Lady Brigitte Macron, actresses Natalie Portman and Rosamund Pike, and singers Aya Nakamura, Yseult and Jisoo, who all watched admiringly.
