The Israeli military’s Home Front Command has lifted restrictions on gatherings, in central Israel, especially Tel Aviv and the surrounding areas, six hours after they were put in place on Sunday morning.

However, restrictions remain in place for large parts of northern Israel, near the border with Lebanon.

This comes as Israel and Hezbollah have traded strikes in the early hours of Sunday.

The revised restrictions come following a new security assessment, which perhaps suggest Israel’s security establishment don’t believe another Hezbollah attack to be imminent.

However, the 48-hour state of emergency put in place by Defense Minister Yoav Gallant remains active, which will allow the Israeli military to reimpose restrictions if it is deemed necessary.
