The Israeli Security Agency, also known as Shin Bet, has hindered a plot authored by Arab Israelis and Palestinians to carry out terror attacks in Israel and the West Bank, abduct Israeli soldiers, and even kill National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir.
A group of Arab Israelis and Palestinians working together to carry out terror acts in Israel and the West Bank, including one targeted at Itamar Ben Gvir, the National Security Minister, have been stopped, according to the Shin Bet intelligence service.
Four Palestinians from the West Bank and seven Arab Israelis were detained in relation to the conspiracy.
The Shin Bet claims that the cell plotted assaults on Israeli military bases and other targets, such as Ben Gurion Airport and the Jerusalem government complex.
The cell also intended to launch an attack on Kiryat Arba, a settlement in the occupied West Bank. There was even a plan to kill Ben Gvir inside this framework, and the Shin Bet said that an RPG rocket was needed to carry out the attack.
The Shin Bet claims the cell attempted to abduct Israeli soldiers as well.
The cell intended to rent a piece of land in the West Bank or in southern Israel’s Rahat to set up a factory with an underground complex where they would train and produce weapons, according to information provided by the Shin Bet.
According to the agency, the cell members tried to get in touch with Gaza Strip-based Hamas authorities in order to get instructions and financing. According to the Shin Bet, at least one of the Palestinian detainees had communicated with a Hamas agent in Gaza who had offered money for Israeli strikes.
