The Lebanese Table Tennis Federation organized the “World Table Tennis Day” at the “Lebanese Diaspora Village” in Batroun, under the supervision of the International Table Tennis Federation and in collaboration with the Asian Federation.

A large number of table tennis players came together and enthusiastically played table tennis.

The opening ceremony began with the Lebanese national anthem, followed by a speech by Federation President Mr. Kopaly, who greeted those present by declaring: “World Table Tennis Day is a sporting and cultural day of excellence organized every year under the aegis of the International Federation in every country in the world. Batroun has been chosen as the table tennis capital of Asia this year. Our program includes all age groups and aims to promote table tennis and show its importance. We have invited the elderly to participate and discover table tennis, encouraging them to play it because of its health benefits.”

He added, “We call on everyone, whatever their age, to play the game. Lebanon plays an active role abroad, thanks to its numerous positions in foreign federations and several members of its administrative committee. Lebanon also continues to host international events despite the current circumstances in the Land of the Cedars.” Mr. Kopaly expressed his gratitude to all those who contributed to the day’s success, from the organizers to corporate sponsors, the table tennis family, and media professionals.”

The table tennis tables were handed over to the “Rafqa House for the Elderly,” the Batroun Youth Sports Club, the Lebanon Scouts (Jesuits), and the Batroun Youth Center.
