Lebanon won its first medals at the Asian Taekwondo Championship organized by the Lebanese Taekwondo Federation. The competitions took place at the Nohad Nawfal stadium in Zouk Mikael.

Lebanon won a silver medal thanks to Karel Ibrahim and a bronze medal thanks to player Edmond Hachem, both in the 12-14 age category, boys and girls, on the fifth day of the championship, to which 39 countries from the world’s largest continent participated.
As soon as Ibrahim and Hachem won their medals, the President of the Lebanese Taekwondo Federation, Habib Zarifeh, accessed the field and congratulated them for their achievement, on behalf of himself and the Lebanese taekwondo family.
These two medals add to the excellent results achieved by Lebanese taekwondo in Arab, regional, continental and international competitions.
The Asian championship continues this Friday, September 8, with the Kyorugi style, followed by the Poomsae competitions on Saturday and the Para competitions on Sunday.
The fifth edition of the “Beirut Open” will kick off on Monday, September 11 and run until Wednesday, September 13.
