The Internal Security Forces (ISF) tracked down a gang carrying out motorcycle thefts and armed robberies in several areas of Beirut and Mount Lebanon.

On June 28, the branch’s patrol apprehended the mastermind of the gang, A.Q., (Lebanese, born in 1999) with a history of theft, pickpocketing, drug and shooting incidents, in a qualitative operation in the Jnah area.

In a statement released on July 3, the ISF stated, “During the interrogation, the detainee confessed to heading a gang that carried out hundreds of motorcycle theft operations from several areas in Beirut and Mount Lebanon,” and “selling them in the Sabra area. He also confessed to carrying out several armed robberies.”

The detainee was referred, along with the seized items, to the appropriate authorities who are actively working to apprehend the remaining gang members.
