The funeral cortege of Pascal Sleiman, coordinator of the Lebanese Forces of Jbeil, arrived at 12:30 PM at the perimeter of Saint Georges Cathedral in Jbeil, where the funeral will take place at 1 PM. The ceremony will be officiated by the Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Bechara al-Rai.
Pascal Sleiman’s coffin, wrapped in the Lebanese and LF flags, is carried at arm’s length through the village of Jbeil to the church. Fireworks were set off as it passed.
Around noon, the funeral cortege left the Notre-Dame des Secours hospital, where Pascal Sleiman’s body had been kept. As it passed, residents threw flower petals and rice.
