The US Embassy in Beirut announced on Friday the prestigious 2024-2025 Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study Program (YES), offering a transformative opportunity for Lebanese youth. The scholarship, in its 22nd year, empowers high school students aged 15 to 17 to experience a complete academic year in the United States.
Selected participants will be hosted by American households for a full academic year, attending US high schools while immersing themselves in American culture and values. Beyond academics, students will embark on activities to foster leadership skills and share insights into Lebanese culture, enriching the exchange experience for both sides.
This comprehensive scholarship package generously covers round-trip travel expenses, tuition fees, health insurance, accommodation, and provides a monthly allowance to defray additional costs.
Since its inception in 2003, the program has sent over 665 Lebanese students on an academic adventure across the United States, building bridges of understanding and friendship.
The program welcomes and supports students with disabilities, provided they meet the aforementioned eligibility requirements.
Interested candidates can submit their applications through the AMIDEAST website by November 17, 2023.
