On the eve of the third commemoration of the August 4, 2020 explosion at the port of Beirut, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah criticized some media and political parties that have established a connection between his party and the presence of the ammonium nitrate at the port.

Nasrallah claims that the failure to make progress on the port blast investigation is due to the “politicization of the investigation,” which is led by investigative judge Tarek Bitar. This is an excuse Nasrallah often repeats, as do the ministers close to the Amal Movement. It should be noted that the administrative responsibility of these ministers has been extensively looked into by Bitar.

Nasrallah also stated that his party had nothing to do with the inter-Palestinian fighting in Ain el-Hilweh, alluding to reports that Hezbollah has been supporting the fundamentalist groups fighting Fatah in the camp.

He also attacked the United States, accusing it of being responsible for the persistent electricity crisis in Lebanon and for preventing authorities from accessing the electricity and gas that Egypt and Jordan are ready to supply to the country.
