Caretaker Minister of Finance Youssef Khalil revealed the World Banks’ intention “to provide Lebanon with a loan of approximately USD 200 million to support the development sectors, especially the agricultural sector, represented by the development project Green Agri-food transformation for economic recovery project.”

Khalil discussed, in his office at the Ministry of Finance, the projects financed by the World Bank, especially programs of assistance loans for the poorest families and wheat support with the Vice President of the World Bank Farid Belhaj, accompanied by his delegation.

Belhaj expressed his satisfaction with the path taken in overcoming acute crises. As for the Finance Ministry, they emphasized on the financial assistance planned to strengthen capacities with regard to e-development.

Earlier today, Speaker of the House Nabih Berri discussed the general situation in Lebanon with Vice President of the World Bank Farid Belhaj, accompanied by his delegation in Ain el Tine, in particular the financial and economic situation in addition to the World Bank’s work programs in Lebanon.
