The renowned Lebanese actor Samir Chamas passed away on August 11, 2024, at 81, leaving behind an unmatched artistic legacy.

The Lebanese artistic community is mourning the loss of the esteemed actor Samir Chamas, who passed away at the age of 81. A towering figure in Lebanese cinema, television, theater, radio and voice acting, Samir Chamas dedicated most of his life to art in its many forms, leaving an indelible mark on Lebanese culture.

Born on November 25, 1942, Samir Chamas began his artistic career in the early 1960s. His exceptional talent quickly brought him to the forefront of the scene, where he participated in numerous films, including the renowned Bitter Honey. Over the years, he starred in dozens of films, plays and series, with notable works such as The Freedom Seekers and Africano. In addition to his on-screen presence, Samir Chamas was also a prominent voice actor, contributing to the dubbing of many animated series, thereby helping to introduce cinematic culture to younger generations.

In 2006, he expanded his creative horizons by publishing his first novel, At the Edge of the Universe, a work that showcased his versatility and deep commitment to storytelling in all its forms.

The news of his passing has sparked an outpouring of grief and fond memories from his colleagues and admirers. Samir Chamas was exceptional for his talent and for his enduring influence on the Lebanese artistic landscape.
