The city of Batroun will host the first edition of Batroun Photo from August 1 to 31, an unprecedented open-air photography festival organized in partnership with the Beirut Center of Photography (BCP). The inauguration of this unique event will take place on July 31, 2024.

Batroun Photo brings together a dozen internationally renowned Lebanese and French photographers. Their works, displayed on the city’s walls, offer visitors a rich and varied visual journey. Throughout this journey, visitors will be able to discover the works of Elie Bekhazi, Marie-Noëlle Fattal, Fares Jammal, Elige Nehmeh, Frédéric Stucin, Paul Zgheib, and Michel Zoghzoghi. Each of these photographers brings their own universe and distinctive narrative, transforming the streets of Batroun into an open-air gallery. From wildlife photography to street photography and plastic photography, the festival brings together real diversity while making photography accessible to all.

The urban space of Batroun will be transformed for a month, offering the opportunity to discover renowned artists and encouraging residents and visitors to (re)discover the city. In parallel, the exhibition Please Don’t Take Away My Joy will be presented at Dar Al Mona, showcasing the works of Omar Gabriel and Omar Al Bakeer. This exhibition explores the delicate and evocative theme of innocence and its fleeting nature through captivating and inspiring photographs in an urban environment.

Additionally, a photography competition is being organized, and the winners’ works will be displayed on the walls of the old port.

Batroun Photo promises an immersion into diverse visual stories, inviting all art lovers, budding photographers, and the curious to discover this exceptional artistic encounter.
