On the renowned Champs-Élysées avenue in Paris, the esteemed luxury fashion house Louis Vuitton is set to construct an unprecedented and grandiose building: a monumental edifice shaped like a suitcase. This bold architectural project follows the vibrant transformation of the Louis Vuitton boutique in January, when it was reimagined in a burst of color by Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama.

In 2024, the prestigious avenue of the Champs-Élysées will witness the unveiling of this magnificent structure, poised to serve as the venue for the Louis Vuitton Women’s Spring-Summer 2024 collection show, scheduled for the highly anticipated Paris Fashion Week in late September. There are whispers that this building may also represent the debut of Louis Vuitton’s first luxury hotel.

While the French House aims to preserve an aura of mystery, it has revealed certain aspects of the building’s design. The structure will feature a monogrammed façade, intricately woven from a metal mesh combining wood and aluminum elements. Situated at 103 Champs-Élysées, directly opposite the iconic flagship store, this site is expected to become a new landmark for luxury connoisseurs.

This architectural initiative pays tribute to the legacy of Louis Vuitton’s leatherworking craftsmanship, evoking the iconic trunks that have been a hallmark of its fame. La Petite Malle, a standout creation by Nicolas Ghesquière, embodies the brand’s dedication to excellence and its longstanding artisanal tradition, reinventing itself with each season. The creation of this colossal suitcase-shaped building is a profound nod to this heritage.

As early as January 2023, the façade of the avenue’s historic store was adorned with an art installation titled Creating Infinity, a collaboration with Yayoi Kusama. The luxury house demonstrated its expansive and colorful interpretation of luxury, featuring polka dots and an oversized representation of the Japanese artist.
