Bruce Springsteen, the iconic American rock musician, has recently declared that the remaining dates of his 2023 tour will be deferred to the subsequent year due to medical reasons. At the age of 74, Springsteen is undergoing treatment for peptic ulcer disease, a condition characterized by open sores that form on the inner lining of the stomach and upper region of the small intestine, commonly manifesting as abdominal discomfort.

While the legendary singer is said to be making consistent progress in his recovery, medical professionals have recommended continued treatment throughout the year. Expressing gratitude for the unwavering support of his loyal fan base, Springsteen conveyed his eagerness to resume performances by next year.

Springsteen, often referred to as “the Boss,” commenced his tour with the renowned E Street Band at the beginning of 2023. Regrettably, this isn’t the first disruption the tour has faced; earlier this year, Springsteen postponed September concerts in the US due to health concerns, following a similar postponement of two shows in August for unspecified reasons.

Details regarding rescheduled dates for the 2023 shows are expected to be released soon, ensuring they remain at the previously determined venues. A provision has been made for those unable to attend the rescheduled dates to claim a refund.

With a celebrated career spanning decades and boasting sales of over 150 million records, Springsteen’s repertoire includes timeless classics such as “Born to Run” and “Dancing in the Dark.” This tour marked Springsteen’s first collaboration with the E Street Band since 2017. Before his health issues surfaced, the artist had an extensive itinerary covering both Europe and the US, including a memorable performance in New Jersey. Noteworthy for their duration, Springsteen’s concerts often extend to marathon lengths, with a record set in 2012 at a staggering four hours in Helsinki.

The concert preceding his medical hiatus featured an eclectic mix of classics, lesser-known tracks and selections from his latest album, “Letter To You.” This album, reflective in nature, contemplates themes of loss and the ephemerality of life. It continues to bear the hallmark sounds of the E Street Band, a testament to their collaborative relationship which began in 1972.
