Lebanese Forces (LF) leader Samir Geagea has instructed party MPs, officials and cadres not to make any statements and to avoid discussing or commenting on current events. They are to wait for clarity on the currently ambiguous situation so that a clear path can emerge.

LF officials have refrained from commenting on ongoing events and have avoided taking positions.

However, this has not prevented them from holding meetings with their opposition colleagues away from the spotlight to assess the situation in light of recent developments and to search for solutions and a roadmap to follow. This comes after it became clear that one of the ambassadors from the Quintet has hinted at the possibility of electing a president as soon as the ceasefire is established.

Opposition sources indicate that there will be movement toward Ain al-Tineh in an attempt to convince Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri to call for a session to elect a president, one who would be able, along with a new government, to rescue the nation.
