Hezbollah reportedly fell into a trap by smuggling “pager” devices through illegal crossings, according to ministerial sources. If these devices had gone through official channels, they would have faced strict monitoring and inspections. This could have revealed the explosives hidden inside.

Instead, the pro-Iranian group chose routes that bypassed inspection, making the devices classified as smuggled into Lebanon. As a result, the government lacks documentation or information about their origin. Reports from American media suggest these devices were manufactured in Israel.

Authorities are struggling with their investigation due to a lack of resources and documentation, which Hezbollah tightly controls. While the group is unlikely to share this information, its specialized agencies will probably prepare a detailed report on the incident.
