Thick black smoke is rising from an area near the port of Beirut, prompting speculation that a fire may have broken out inside the port. A video clip is circulating on social networks.
Beirut firefighters told “Al-Nahar” newspaper that the smoke came from a fire in a waste sorting area at the fish market near the port, denying that there was a fire inside the port. Firefighters are currently working to extinguish it.
