Two members of Jamaa Islamiya, a Lebanese Islamist group with close ties to Palestinian Hamas, were killed in an Israeli drone strike on Friday targeting their car on the Meidoun road in western Bekaa. The individuals killed were identified as Mossaab Khalmaf and Bilal el-Khalaf.

The Israeli army stated, “The Jamaa Islamiya terrorist organization recently planned and promoted a large number of terror attacks from Lebanese territory against Israel in the area of Har Dov, as well as additional areas in northern Israel.”

Simultaneously with the strike, three Israeli drones were observed flying over the village of Machghara.

Earlier in the afternoon, Israel targeted a car on the road linking Dhayra to Zloutiyeh and conducted raids on two houses in Aita al-Shaab and Tayr Harfa, leading to the evacuation of a wounded individual. The Israeli army declared that it had targeted Hezbollah military structures in these two villages. Additionally, two rockets were launched at a house in Kfar Kila, resulting in its complete destruction.

Israeli airstrikes also targeted Yarine, Hanin and Blida. Furthermore, two air-to-ground missiles were launched against Jabal el-Rihan, with a raid carried out on the village of Aramta.

Hezbollah claimed responsibility for attacks against the Ramta position in the Kfarchouba hills. In retaliation for the Meidoun raid, the pro-Iranian group announced that it had launched dozens of Katyusha rockets against the headquarters of the Hermon 810 division.

Tensions escalated on Friday morning in the border area between Lebanon and Israel, with the Israeli army launching a violent bombardment on the sectors of Shebaa, Kfarchouba and Halta. Approximately 150 shells were fired in retaliation to the death of a civilian the previous day at Shebaa Farms, which was targeted by an anti-tank missile fired by Hezbollah from Lebanon.

The Israeli army announced, “A military truck driver lost his life at midnight in an attack targeting a military site in Shebaa Farms.”
