Lebanon’s electricity company, Électricité du Liban (EDL) reiterated its warning to public administrations, public institutions, water boards and individuals operating on behalf of the public sector, in the various regions of Lebanon, to pay their electricity bills (old and new), in cash (Lebanese pounds), by February 29.

The public electricity supplier is asking them to regularize their situation, failing which it will be forced, in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations, to cut off the electricity supply to those who fail to pay.

The company points out that it is unable to sell electricity, even to the public sector, without collecting the fees for it.
