Video footage of Lady Gaga in Paris, just days before the start of the Olympic Games, has ignited rumors that the US pop star could feature in Friday’s opening ceremony.
The 38-year-old singer was seen arriving at a hotel in the French capital, with videos quickly circulating on social media. The music for the opening ceremony, which will be held along the river Seine instead of the traditional athletics stadium, remains largely under wraps.
Franco-Malian R&B star Aya Nakamura is widely expected to perform, despite facing criticism from far-right politicians. Nonetheless, Nakamura’s participation is anticipated to bring a contemporary and vibrant flair to the event.

Adding to the speculation, Celine Dion has also been spotted in Paris, fueling rumors that she could take part in either the opening or closing ceremony. Celine Dion’s presence has stirred excitement among fans, who are eager to see her return to the stage.
Meanwhile, French electro superstars Daft Punk have declined an invitation to perform at the opening ceremony. In contrast, French DJ David Guetta, known for his global hits, has expressed irritation over being overlooked for the event.
The ceremony promises a unique spectacle, with around 6,000-7,000 athletes set to sail down a six-kilometer stretch of the river Seine, from the Austerlitz bridge in the east to the Eiffel Tower. This procession will take place on 85 barges and boats, offering a picturesque and innovative start to the Games.
