The Army Commander-in-Chief, General Joseph Aoun, and the French Minister of Armed Forces, Sebastien Lecornu, visited the military medical facility on Tuesday.

This visit is part of various initiatives undertaken by the French authorities to provide diverse assistance to the army, enhancing its capabilities, particularly in the field of military medicine.

Upon the visit, the head of the medical corps, Colonel Danny Bechara, provided an overview of the medical facility’s current situation, capabilities, needs and ongoing development projects.

Lecornu commended the significant efforts of the military medical personnel and their professionalism in carrying out their duties. He emphasized the priority of supporting the army, especially the military medical sector, in the face of current challenges.

The French Minister had already visited the Deir Kifa base in southern Lebanon a day prior, where he held discussions with Aoun and French military personnel deployed as part of the UN peacekeeping mission.

Earlier in the day, discussions between Aoun and Lecornu were also held regarding ways to enhance cooperation between the armies of both countries.
