The Lebanese Forces (LF) have urged Hezbollah to “incorporate” itself into the state by legalizing all its institutions, particularly the financial entity al-Qard al-Hassan.

The institution recently announced the reopening of 16 branches across various regions in Lebanon, just days after a ceasefire was declared on November 27.

In a press release, the LF stated, “We call on Hezbollah to legalize all its institutions, including al-Qard al-Hassan, by integrating them into Lebanon’s financial system. This requires applying for a license from the Central Bank of Lebanon, under Articles 178 to 184 of the Monetary and Credit Code, as well as Decision No. 5994, dated September 1, 1995, and published in the Official Gazette No. 40 on October 5, 1995."

The statement emphasized that Lebanon is entering a new phase, adding, “It is no longer acceptable to tolerate practices and maneuvers that violate the Constitution and the country’s laws. The time has come for the state to reclaim its sovereignty and rebuild its financial and administrative systems.”
