After a heavy defeat against Syria, the Lebanese women’s U-18 national team regained its footing by winning 4-0 against Saudi Arabia, a clear score that reignites its hopes of retaining its title as West Asia champions.

The reaction was in place after the setback against Syria. This Monday, the Lebanese women’s U-18 national team achieved a brilliant 4-0 victory against Saudi Arabia, a performance that gives the team hope for the continuation of the Women’s U-18 Asia Championship in West Asia. With goals from Luna Khazem, Lea El Hajj Ali, and two goals from Tatiana Kenaan, Lebanon regained its offensive efficiency while confirming the strength of its defense.

A thunderous start to the match

From the kickoff against Saudi Arabia, the Lebanese players showed great determination. Luna Khazem opened the scoring in the 10th minute with a superb shot from outside the box, before Lea El Hajj Ali added a second goal in the 25th minute, after a great offensive combination. At halftime, Lebanon was leading 2-0, a comfortable advantage going into the second half.

Tatiana Kenaan seals the victory

In the second half, the Saudis tried to react, but the Lebanese defense, well-organized, repelled all the opposing attacks. Lebanon continued to dominate the match, and Tatiana Kenaan scored two goals in the second half, one in the 60th minute and another in the 75th, bringing the final score to 4-0. These two goals sealed the Lebanese victory and reignited the team’s hopes in the race for the title.

The challenges ahead

Thanks to this success, Lebanon keeps its chances alive to retain its West Asia Championship title, which it won in 2019 and 2022. However, the Lebanese will need to continue working hard to correct their past mistakes and prepare for their next decisive match, scheduled for Wednesday against Palestine. This match could be crucial for their ambitions to stay at the top of the standings.

Although the task remains complex for the defending champions, this victory against Saudi Arabia marks an important step in the right direction for the Lebanese team.
