Caretaker Telecommunications Minister Johnny Corm inspected on Tuesday the damage caused to Ogero central in al-Mreijeh, in Beirut's southern suburb, and announced that an action plan would soon be drawn up to restore all the telephone centrals damaged by the Israeli raids in Beirut, southern Lebanon and the Beqaa region.
At the end of the tour, Corm confirmed at a press conference that his department “is working to address the malfunctions caused by the Israeli attacks on the communications and Internet networks,” noting that “the number of out-of-service stations has fallen from 56 to 15 for the operator Touch, and from 27 to 8 for Alfa.” This testifies to the great efforts being made to improve the network situation, while the ministry is working to restart the remaining stations as quickly as possible.
Regarding Ogero's central in al-Mreijeh, considered to be one of the largest, he said that the cables had suffered severe damage.
