In a context marked by the recent tragic events in Lebanon, the charitable exhibition Moments for Lebanon took place in Paris on November 30 and December 1. This event highlighted the "soul of Lebanon" while supporting essential humanitarian efforts.
A charitable exhibition titled Moments for Lebanon was organized in Paris by two Lebanese expatriates living in France, Tamara Barakat and Sana El Halwani. They aimed to combine their love for their homeland with concrete action to support the Lebanese population. The opening took place on November 30 at Lucid Interval, a Parisian art space, followed by a public exhibition on December 1.
The exhibition featured a selection of works by Lebanese and international artists, most of whom generously donated their creations to aid Lebanon in these challenging times. From photography to painting, illustration, and cinema, each piece paid tribute to Lebanon's culture, heritage, and resilience.
Photographers Akila Berjaoui, Francesca Matta, Sama Beydoun, and Samer Halwani captured Lebanese landscapes through their lenses, while visual artists Micheline Nohra, Mira El Khalil, Sacha Haddad, and Tom Young enriched the exhibition with vibrant and textured works, reflecting the country's soul. Digital artists Lynn Sacha Hanna and Yara Hanna brought a contemporary dimension with their innovative creations. Through their works, these artists showcased the beauty and strength of Lebanon, a nation that, despite adversity, endures and reinvents itself.
One of the primary objectives of Moments for Lebanon was to ensure that the funds raised were directly allocated to four humanitarian organizations working to assist Lebanon's most vulnerable populations: the Lebanese Red Cross, Rotary Lebanon, Beit El Baraka, and Give Me A Paw.
Each of these organizations plays a vital role in responding to the current crises. The Lebanese Red Cross is at the forefront of providing emergency aid across the country. Rotary Lebanon supports displaced families by supplying food, clean water, hygiene kits, and improving sanitary infrastructure. Beit El Baraka focuses on medical care, housing, and food distribution for economically struggling families. Give Me A Paw helps stray animals by rescuing, rehabilitating, and finding them new homes.
Moments for Lebanon was more than just an exhibition; it was a warm and unifying gathering for all those wishing to support Lebanon. Beyond its artistic aspect, the event embodied a spirit of unity and generosity, providing a platform to discover talented artists while supporting impactful initiatives.
