Lebanon is preparing to take part in three FIBA tournaments: one women’s continental and two men’s global. The TV channel has therefore taken the initiative of encouraging the players via a media campaign whose slogan is: “The Earth is our ground #It’s_our_stadium”.

As holder of the exclusive broadcasting rights in Lebanon for the main international basketball competitions until 2025, under an agreement with the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), the television channel LBCI launched on Thursday, June 1st – under the slogan “The Earth is our ground #It’s_our_stadium” – a campaign to support and encourage the Lebanese basketball teams, who are involved in no less than… three Cups, including two World Cups!

Indeed, the women’s national team will be taking part in the 2023 Asian Cup in Sydney, Australia, from June 26th to July 2nd. It is the only Arab team in the tournament, and will face China, South Korea and New Zealand in the first round. In addition, the Lebanese U19 men’s team will take part in the U19 2023 World Cup in Hungary, from June 24th to July 2nd. In the group phase, they will face Slovenia, Madagascar and the United States. Finally, the men’s national team has qualified for the finals of the 2023 World Cup, which will take place from August 25th to September 10th in three countries: the Philippines, Japan and Indonesia. Playing their group phase in Indonesia, they will be competing with Latvia, Canada and France for a place in the knockout stages.

The media campaign in support of the three teams – whose slogan is inspired by the various Lebanese personalities who have known international success from the fields of art, culture, fashion and medicine – will accompany the live broadcast of the matches on screen, on digital platforms and on the LBCI website. The TV channel is planning promotional clips, special TV programs, extensive coverage in news bulletins, reports and interviews, special coverage at the heart of the sporting event, as well as analytical debates with sports experts and famous players.
