Forbes Ranking: Who Are the Richest People in the World?

Elon Musk is kicking off the year with a remarkable milestone. In addition to holding the title of the world’s richest person, he has become the first billionaire in nearly four decades to surpass the $400 billion mark. According to Forbes, Musk’s fortune, now valued at around $421.2 billion, has surged by $91 billion since December 1.

Jeff Bezos has moved up to second place on the billionaire ranking, with his fortune growing by $10 billion in just one month, driven by a 5% rise in the e-commerce giant's shares. As of early 2025, his net worth stands at $233.5 billion, nearly $188 billion behind Elon Musk.

Meanwhile, Jensen Huang, CEO and co-founder of Nvidia, entered the top 10 for the first time in January. Ranked 10th, Huang’s fortune is valued at $118 billion, largely fueled by a 171% surge in Nvidia’s stock price in 2024.

The world’s 10 richest individuals collectively hold a fortune of $1.9 trillion, with each of them possessing at least $120 billion, according to Forbes. As of January 1, 2025, the top 10 billionaires are all men. Here are the rankings and their estimated fortunes:
