The Legion of Honor Society has once again extended its philanthropic arm to aid humanitarian and health institutions in Lebanon. The association provided financial assistance to Hotel Dieu Hospital to bolster its social fund, which aids homeless patients.

Several figures attended the ceremony, including Prof. Salim Daccache, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hotel Dieu, Nassib Nasr, the hospital’s General Director, Ambassador Khalil Karam, and President of the Association of Members of the Legion of Honor.

In his address, Ambassador Karam emphasized the symbolic significance of supporting Hotel Dieu Hospital’s Social Fund, particularly in light of Lebanon’s challenging economic and social circumstances. He underscored the imperative of extending assistance to those enduring dire conditions exacerbated by the country’s prolonged crises.

Expressing gratitude for the association’s unrelenting support of the hospital, Father Daccache highlighted the pivotal role played by the hospital’s social fund in assisting patients, irrespective of their socio-economic background. He emphasized the hospital’s commitment to upholding humanitarian values, noting that over 20% of Lebanon’s population receives care at Hotel Dieu.

Director General Nasr echoed similar sentiments and emphasized how the support from the social fund will augment the hospital’s capacity to extend hospitalization assistance to needy patients. He reiterated the hospital’s dedication to serving the community and alleviating the suffering of those in need.
