Following the visit of Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs to Lebanon, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, on February 10, 2024, MP Ashraf Rifi addressed the latter through the X platform.
Rifi wrote, “Lebanon’s security is not Iran’s security, and Lebanon will not be an arena for its influence while the Lebanese pay the price.”
In a message addressed to Abdollahian, the Tripoli MP said, “To Abdollahian, we say: You do not recognize Lebanon as a state, and the dream of controlling it, its presidency, government and institutions is on the verge of collapse. What is required is some wisdom, rulers of Tehran. Lebanon is a pluralistic nation, and the majority of its citizens reject your destructive project.”
