Israeli artillery hit on Monday the western outskirts of the town of Mays al-Jabal in the Ras al-Zahra neighborhood, while flares were fired on the outskirts of Alma al-Shaab and Dhayra, accompanied by retaliatory artillery fire on the outskirts of Tayr Harfa.

Moreover, Israeli artillery targeted the outskirts of the towns of Ramya and Aita al-Shaab with retaliatory artillery fire reaching the outskirts of Tyre, Hula, Mays al-Jabal, Wadi al-Saluki and the Tufa area. It also targeted the Bayad area and the al-Ruwaysa hill.

The National News Agency reported that an Israeli airstrike hit a house in the town of Majdel Selm, destroying it completely. Civil Defense teams headed to the scene and transported several wounded to hospitals in the region. The airstrike later resulted in the death of one person and caused two injuries.

In retaliation, Hezbollah claimed responsibility for three operations, targeting a gathering of Israeli soldiers in the vicinity of the al-Raheb site, an Israeli military force in the elevated area of Abu Dajaj and the al-Samaqa site, all three with “suitable weapons, causing direct injuries.”

Hezbollah also mourned two of its members, Ali Saeed Yahya “Jawad” from the town of Taybeh in southern Lebanon and Mujahid Samih Asaad Asaad “Abu Tarab” from the town of Kfar Kila.

On the political front, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant pointed out, during a meeting with his French counterpart, that “even if Hezbollah stops firing from one side, Israel will not cease fire until the safe return of the northern residents to their homes.”

Gallant thanked Le Drian for France’s commitment to changing the security situation in southern Lebanon and removing Hezbollah from the borders. He emphasized that France has “an important role in the international wish for stability on the northern border, within the framework of the political effort led by the US administration,” stating that Israel “prefers to end the conflict with Hezbollah through a political settlement.” He warned that “war in the North will be difficult for Israel, but destructive for Hezbollah and Lebanon.”
