Clashes continued on Saturday between Hezbollah and the Israeli army in southern Lebanon.

Friday night was marked by Israeli bombardments in the vicinity of al-Majidiya farm, east of the border. In addition, the Israeli army dropped flare bombs on Kroum el-Charqi in Meiss el-Jabal, in the border areas opposite the village of Blida and Roueissat al-Alam, as well as on Birkat al-Nakar, on the Shebaa farms, and on the hills of Kfarchouba and Wadi Honein.

The Israeli army also fired incendiary shells, setting fire to bushes along the Blue Line.

An Israeli drone penetrated Lebanese airspace and targeted a position at Jabal Safi, north of the Litani River, some 20 kilometers from the border demarcation line. It should be noted that confrontations usually take place within a five-kilometer radius, but this is the second time since the beginning of the clashes that Israel has targeted areas at this depth. The previous night, an Israeli drone had targeted the Birkat al-Jabour area, in Jabal Rihane.

An Israeli-guided aircraft carried out three air strikes targeting the “American Hill” and an open area in Jabal Safi, in the Iqlim al-Tuffah region. Surveillance drones have been flying intensively over the area at medium altitude since Saturday morning.

The Israeli army also shelled the Jal al-Allam area on the outskirts of Naqoura on Saturday afternoon, firing more than 20 incendiary shells. An Israeli 155mm shell landed in the courtyard of Issam Alyan’s house in Labouneh without exploding. A shell fell on the wall of the UNIFIL center in Naqoura without causing any injuries, during the shelling that resumed in the afternoon on the outskirts of Labouneh, Alma al-Chaab, and Naqoura.

Israeli artillery also targeted Alma al-Chaab with phosphorus shells, resulting in fires. Civil Defense teams were then directly targeted with seven shells, forcing them to withdraw.

In addition, Israeli media confirmed that a surface-to-air missile had been intercepted in northern Israel after being launched from Lebanon.

Israeli army spokesman Avichay Adraee reported on his X account that “a fighter jet attacked a Hezbollah military installation on Friday evening.”

Witnesses quoted by the al-Markazia agency reported that an Israeli reconnaissance plane had crashed in the area between the villages of Debaal and Jouaiyya.

Guided missiles targeted the Israeli military site of el-Abbad opposite the village of Houla. The Israeli army retaliated by bombing Houla and Wadi Hnein.

Hezbollah announced on Saturday afternoon that it had “attacked the Richa site and the Jardah position at 2:30 PM on Saturday, October 28, 2023, using artillery shells and appropriate weapons, inflicting direct damage,” according to the statement.

A representative of the National News Agency (NNA) reported hearing a loud explosion near villages in the Tyre Caza, and it was later revealed that a Patriot missile had exploded over the area. Activist Fouad Khreiss posted photos on his X account of the debris from the Patriot missile launched by the Israeli army and dropped east of Tyre.
