Caretaker Minister of Economy Amin Salam said that “implicating Lebanon in what is happening in Gaza will have severe consequences on the country.”

Speaking to This Is Beirut at the end of the Cabinet session held on Thursday, Salam stressed that there was “a consensus among all ministers on the need to be very wise because Lebanon cannot handle any escalation.”

He underlined that there was also a “clear solidarity expressed with the people in Gaza,” adding, “Everybody was on the same page. We want to protect Lebanon because we have lived the war and we know what it means.”
