President Joseph Aoun praised the State of Kuwait as a steadfast supporter of Lebanon on political, economic and humanitarian fronts, as he arrived in the country on Sunday for a two-day official visit.
Accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Youssef Rajji, Aoun expressed his "deep appreciation and gratitude" for Kuwait’s continued backing, especially during Lebanon’s times of crisis.
“Kuwait has been, and continues to be, a strong supporter of Lebanon,” he said upon arrival, thanking Emir Sheikh Meshaal al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah for the “generous invitation.”
Aoun said he was confident the visit would "open new horizons for cooperation between our two brotherly countries and peoples," stressing the importance of deepening bilateral ties.
He also welcomed the opportunity to encourage the return of Kuwaiti visitors to Lebanon. “Especially in the upcoming summer season, we look forward to seeing our Kuwaiti brothers return to their second home, so that Lebanese shores may once again flourish with their presence,” he said.
The president noted that talks with Kuwaiti officials will focus on enhancing cooperation, activating existing agreements and exploring ways to advance shared national interests. Regional challenges and joint Arab action will also feature on the agenda.
