The Security Office at the Port of Tripoli thwarted an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of hashish (151 kilograms), as reported by the national news agency (NNA) on Tuesday.
The illicit drug was concealed inside a red Volkswagen Golf with the license plate number PML048, and the vehicle was driven by Lebanese national Rami Abdallah Najm Al-Din, who holds Swedish citizenship.
“The seized drug and the suspect were handed over to the Central Customs Branch in Tripoli for further investigation,” according to the report.
