In a statement released on Thursday, June 1, Parliament Speaker Nabih Berry declared that “the doors of Parliament have not been and will not be closed to a session dedicated to electing a President, as long as at least two serious candidacies are announced for the presidency. Any other assertion is a disturbance and futile threat.”
