Caretaker Minister of Finance Youssef Khalil extended the deadlines for tax and income tax declarations by issuing three decisions on Wednesday.

This aims to give taxpayers more time while avoiding late payment fines.

The deadline for filing the annual income tax return for salaries and wages (R5), individual annual statements (R6) and the annual global statement (R7) for 2023 has been extended until September 25, 2024. The same applies to the payment of taxes, if due.

The deadline for submitting the personal income tax return of employees working for several employers or simultaneously receiving a retirement pension or lifetime allowances, as well as taxpayers subject to the tax of the first chapter who receive salaries, wages, pensions or allowances at the same time (form R8), has been extended for the last time until September 30.

Similarly, the deadline for payment of tax due for the 2023 financial year has been extended to the same date.

Finally, the deadline for filing returns for the first quarter of 2024 on amounts taxable under sections 41 and 42 of the Income Tax Act has been extended to September 30, 2024.
