On Tuesday, the caretaker Minister of Finance, Youssef Khalil, published four decisions extending the payment deadlines for certain taxes. The aim is to give taxpayers additional time to pay their dues, and thus avoid late payment fines.

The payment deadline for the annual flat-rate and proportional tax levied on establishments selling alcoholic beverages by the glass has been extended to March 28, 2024.

The same applies to the deadline for submitting applications for smoking permits in tourist establishments and payment of the fee, which has been extended to March 28, 2024.

In another decision, Khalil extended the period for filing departure tax declarations for air and sea travelers to March 28, 2024.

Finally, the deadline for payment of the annual flat-rate and proportional royalty imposed on establishments selling spirits in sealed containers or bottles for the year 2024 has been extended to March 28.
