Ghalboun is a hidden gem, located in the heights of the Byblos region, about 50 kilometers north of Beirut. The village is rich in natural beauty and spectacular panoramas, with its majestic pine-covered mountains, centuries-old olive trees and lush vineyards cascading towards the Mediterranean. In recent years, Ghalboun has transformed into a true model village. This transformation was driven by the visionary leadership of its Municipal President, Elie Gebrayel, and his committee, blending tradition, modernity, infrastructure development and eco-responsible initiatives.
This beautiful village now embodies a model of rural development and sustainable tourism, featuring renovated roads, modernized water and electricity networks and numerous public spaces that enrich community life. It is a destination worth visiting and, more importantly, a place where it is good to live. As its proud inhabitants often say, they are more attached than ever to their land and village.
A Festival Under the Banner of Poetry and Music
To foster this attachment, culture has been integrated as an essential ingredient in the sustainable development strategy. Inaugurated in 2011, the Ghalboun International Festival has attracted top artists from Lebanon and around the world, along with increasingly diverse and wide-ranging audiences who benefit from impeccable organization that meets their high expectations.
This summer, once again, the Festival Committee has opted for reliable values, offering two performances that carry a message and deliver meaning.
“Vivaldi Oriental Four Seasons” and “Lost in Love”
Two unique performances transforming entertainment into an unforgettable sensory experience celebrating nature and love. The exclusive programs were created and crafted like pieces of jewelry by Maestro Harout Fazlian, featuring a virtuoso Qanun player specially coming from Armenia, a live orchestra and the unparalleled narration of actor Rifaat Tarabay, who brings to life the texts of our greatest Lebanese poets: Ounsi el Hajj, Gibran Khalil Gibran, Said Akl, Talal Haidar and Henri Zogheib.
An invitation to experience a subtle harmony between East and West, embodied by the meeting of the Arabic language and Western music, which echoes the perfect harmony of Saint Gabriel wines, an exceptional beverage produced in the village, offered for tasting to all attendees during these two concerts.
Thus, the Ghalboun International Festival 2024 has once again proudly positioned itself as an ambassador of culture, taste and refinement.
