The talented pianist and conductor Bassam Challita invites you to a unique and moving musical journey with his concert Fantasy of a Pianist. Under the visual and artistic direction of Joseph Nassar, this event will take place on June 15, 2024, at 8:30 PM at the Casino du Liban Theater. Bassam Challita’s music promises to touch the heart of every spectator, transporting them into a captivating musical universe. For the first time, artificial intelligence-generated effects will be integrated into the concert, bringing an innovative dimension and making this evening truly unique.
Fantasy of a Pianist tells the story of youthful dreams and fantasies, confronted with the realities and disappointments of love. This show explores the deep emotions of every heart, dramatic moments, and the awakening leading to happiness, success and rebirth. Bassam Challita, on the piano, will be accompanied by 20 orchestra musicians, 10 guest artists, and special appearances by singers, dancers, musicians and a 12-person choir.
Bassam Challita began his piano journey at the National Conservatory and enriched his musical experiences by working with conductors, composers and international professors from around the world. Since 2007, he has been involved in managing various productions, gradually shaping his own artistic vision. His passion extends beyond the piano keys to musical and orchestral direction.
Special guests of international renown will guide the story alongside Bassam, from singers to musicians to dancers. Among the main artists are Mike Massy, a famous singer, songwriter and vocal coach; Manel Mallat, an award-winning Franco-Lebanese singer, songwriter and actress; Polina Qz, an international singer, actress and model; Jessy Jleilaty, a singer, choir director and international vocal coach; Relu Balkan, an international clarinetist and film music producer; Mazen Kiwan, a tango icon in Lebanon and the region; Sahar Abou Khalil, an international choreographer and dancer; Carlos Pinana, an international flamenco guitarist, producer and composer; and Anya Alaeddin, a Lebanese rhythmic gymnastics champion and international dancer.
The concert program is diverse and rich in emotions, cultures and genres, with smooth transitions and a unique atmosphere. Composers such as Chopin, Zaki Nassif, Shostakovich, Asmahan, Warda, Abdel Halim, Astor Piazzolla, Edith Piaf, Charles Aznavour, Jacques Brel, and many others – from traditional Lebanese to international – will be honored. Bassam will present three of his compositions for the first time, accompanied by international musicians, while Mike Massy will perform one of his original compositions.
Tickets are on sale at Virgin ticketing box office. All concert proceeds will be donated to the social services of the Maronite Church of Saint Elias in Antelias, who are also coordinators and partners of this unique event.
