Fatima Al Housseini’s exhibition “Let it Bloom,” at Art Scene Gallery in Gemmayze, is vibrant and full of life.

A fine arts graduate and current art teacher, Fatima has always been passionate about art and painting, a passion evident from her early childhood when she won prizes at the famous Fabriano competition.

After participating in several group exhibitions, she is now presenting her solo canvases in the beautiful space of Art Scene Gallery, where visitors are warmly welcomed by its charming owner, Rania Hammoud, who revives Gouraud Street through the art she offers.

Through a personal journey, in which young Fatima engages in research on life and the conflicts experienced in Lebanon, “Let It Bloom” represents a lively journey from the dense urbanity of Beirut to the serene expanses of the Bekaa.

The body of work, created during a year of deep introspection and unrestrained creativity, is an evocative celebration of renewal and freedom.

Indeed, the artist indulges in her joy for life when she decides, after much hesitation, to move to the Bekaa. There, she finds her peace and the happiness of painting life in colors. The cacophony of Beirut city fades into the tranquility of the countryside, where her brush thrives.

Through a vibrant palette of joyful colors, where mixed media blends with occasional collages or distinctive elements like birds, human silhouettes, trees or flowers, the artist fully expresses her own being. And it is in this way that she overcomes her ultimate fears and discomforts.

She travels and takes viewers on a journey, overcoming constraints and limits. Urban landscapes gradually blend into nature, and external elements become spaces of life and renewal.

It is precisely this renewal that is highlighted, whether intuitively or intentionally. She expresses her feelings and emotions, between past and present, urban and natural, in the mastery of compositions, strong in colors and balanced and suggestive movements.

She completely frees herself by abstracting from precise and rational forms, to give free rein to her compositions where the silhouettes of city dwellers are overwhelmed by the fertility of nature and its regenerative effects.

From her rich palette of acrylics, oils and pastels, she describes her neo-expressionist view, where urban motifs harmoniously blend with bucolic landscapes, creating experiences that reflect the artist’s inner transformation.

This intriguing exhibition, which invites visitors to smile and dream, is held at Art Scene Gallery until May 8.
