Ridley Scott, renowned for his iconic films, such as Gladiator, Alien, and Thelma & Louise, and more recently for his latest movie Napoleon, has been elevated to the rank of Knight Grand Cross of the Order of the British Empire. This accolade comes just weeks after the release of his latest film, marking a significant milestone in his illustrious cinematic career.

Welsh singer Shirley Bassey, globally acclaimed for her memorable renditions of James Bond theme songs, has been honored as a Companion of Honour. At 86 years old, with over 130 million records sold and notable performances at Queen Elizabeth II’s jubilees, Bassey’s entire musical career has been recognized.

Emilia Clarke, best known for her portrayal of Daenerys Targaryen in the hit series Game of Thrones, has been appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire. In addition to her acting career, Clarke has been acknowledged for her social commitment, cofounding with her mother a charity to aid victims of brain hemorrhages, a condition she has personally experienced.

In the religious sphere, the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, has been bestowed the title of Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order for his role in the coronation ceremony of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
