Residents of Deir El-Ahmar awoke on Saturday to find their Christian graves desecrated, with broken crosses and a damaged cemetery.
In response to the attack, Baalbek-Hermel Governor Bachir Khodr tweeted: “I call on our people in Deir Al-Ahmar, after the attack on the graves, to remain completely self-restrained, and await the results of the investigation. The Security Agencies and I are following up on the matter, and I am confident that we will arrest the perpetrators.”
